Trutnov City Pigeon Loft

A pigeon loft in a school building attic

Trutnov's managed city pigeon loft was created in the attic of building No. 13 on Školní Street. The project originated in the city's participatory budget and provides roughly 32 m² of dedicated space equipped with nesting boxes and perches.

Access for the pigeons is provided through a modified roof window facing the courtyard. The project also includes a separate protected nesting area for swifts, combining urban pigeon management with support for wider urban biodiversity.

The city is working on the project with City Pigeon Lofts. Its aim is to concentrate nesting in a controlled location, maintain the space regularly and manage the pigeon population humanely over the long term.
